The series was produced in an empty apartment during a moving-out period and proposes the personification of a transitional phase. Representing the ghosts that one can find in some people or others, left in our past, reproducing illogical or repetitive acts. This transitional context deeply informs the images: the bodies appear unstable, crossed by fragmented gestures, as if replaying past situations without being able to detach from them. The figures embody these “ghosts” we carry within us, traces of melancholia, relationships, roles, or previous states that continue to persist.
In this work, suffering is not spectacular but embedded in ordinary yet structuring experiences: a separation that leaves gestures without a recipient, a mourning that turns presence into absence, a displacement that uproots one’s sense of stability, the precarious and unstable conditions of artistic or full-time professional activity shaped by social uncertainties, as well as ongoing identity transformations linked to life changes. These very concrete situations in contemporary life generate states of suspension.
These tensions are not resolved. The characters do not tell a clear story: they repeat, replay, distort. They give form to a contemporary condition marked by instability, loss of meaning, and yet the necessity to continue acting.
